Studio 1 on 1

Hello! My name is Jocelyn Olson. I have owned and operated Studio 1 on 1 since its establishment in 2020, where I teach private lessons in voice and a large variety of instruments. I hold Bachelor of Science degrees in both Music Education and Music Business Cum Laude from Southern Oregon University. I am a classically trained Mezzo-Soprano. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in education through Simpson University. I also serve as a Professional Expert in Voice for Shasta College.

My approach to teaching is to teach from a neurocognitive and anotomical development of the way the brain and body naturally learns. This approach has proven successful for many young students to adults. I have developed several exercises to help those with speech or tongue issues achieve their goals for singing in multiple languages or just improve their speaking and singing abilities in English.

I am passionate about helping children discover the joy of music and I look forward to getting to know you and your children and helping them grow as confident musicians while fostering a lifelong appreciation for music.

I love animals and train therapy and service dogs. The animals frequently choose a student and join in for their lessons.

During the school year I teach music in the schools and vocal majors at Shasta College, in addition to running my studio.
